Bishop’s Stortford set for multiple road closures until November – Hertfordshire Mercury

Farnham Road is due to be re-opened by 14 August while Rye Street (B1004) is due to be closed on 21 August for six weeks, with some temporary traffic light systems to appear intermittently between September and November.

#8220;The work will bring significant improvements to the local road network, especially the creation of the new roundabout, which will make the junction much safer.#8221;

Housebuilders Countryside, who were also behind the St Michael#8217;s Mead housing development to the west of the town centre, secured planning permission for 329 new homes in 2016, with work having begun in June.

Some roads have already been closed due to building works with more closures still to come — all works are due to be completed by November 2017.

A series of road closures are planned for the north of Bishop#8217;s Stortford over the coming months as new infrastructure works near the Hazel End Road housing development get underway.
