Cold snap to hit Cumbria across next few days – NW Evening Mail

Heavy rainfall is expected today across parts of the region while the south of Scotland could face frequent and heavy hail and snow showers on Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures are set to plunge on Monday and in Carlisle the Met Office predicts #8220;frequent, squally#8221; showers, often wintry with hail and thunder possible.

#8220;Showers will also be accompanied by hail and lightning at times, particularly across northern and western Scotland.#8221;

The bad of poor weather is set to continue through Tuesday.

Travel delays on roads are possible, with a small chance of cancellations to public transport.

The Met Office#8217;s chief forecaster predicts: #8220;Snow showers will be heaviest and most frequent across western Scotland.

WRAP up warm Cumbria #8211; rain, hail, snow and ice has been predicted to hit the county over the next few days.
