MP Bob Seely to quit Isle of Wight Council role – Isle of Wight County Press

He said he would quit his Portsmouth role if he was elected to the Isle of Wight Council.

Mr Hastings lives in Brighstone but remains a serving councillor in Portsmouth, where he has been dubbed the ‘phantom councillor’.

Steve Hastings, who stood in the Newport Central ward in May, and lost to Independent Cllr Julie Jones Evans, confirmed he had been selected as the Tory candidate for Central Wight.

#8220;I was very grateful for the strong vote of support in last May’s council elections and I look forward to continuing to serve them, and all Islanders, as the Island’s MP.”
