Police: Multiple charges follow assault, car theft – Rutland Herald

Police said a family fight was reported on Route 30 in Poultney shortly after midnight Sunday. An investigation showed Vincent Striglia, 27, had assaulted a family member and then stole a vehicle to flee the scene before troopers arrived, according to a news release.

Police said Striglia then led police in a high-speed chase which was eventually called off due to his erratic driving. Police said he was later located with the vehicle in Poultney where he resisted arrest, causing a trooper to suffer a minor injury.

POULTNEY — Vermont State Police say a Poultney man assaulted a family member and made off in a stolen car.

Striglia was ordered held at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail. He’s scheduled to appear in Rutland County criminal court on Dec. 18 to answer the charges of domestic assault, aggravated operation of a vehicle without the owner’s consent, gross negligent operation, excessive speed, eluding law enforcement, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence.
