Videos on social networking demonstrated commuters hurrying from a train in the Tanjong Pagar station, covering their nostrils to safeguard themselves from gray gas. A number of them were seen taking photos on their own phones.
The gas triggered alarm after Indonesian police arrested six suspected Islamist militants on August. 5 on suspicion of plotting a panic attack on Singapore.
There have been no injuries, police stated.
