“ It’s all about giving back,” he said. “You treat people well and they’ll respond back.”

About a dozen students, primarily from Rutland High School, came to the Project VISION office at the Rutland City Police Department to help some volunteering officers, including Chief Brian Kilcullen and Sgt. Keith Lorman, sort food that had been purchased with money raised from an October fundraiser, “ Shear Heaven’s Blue Angels Feeding Families.”

Jacob Lorman said many of the RHS students helping Thursday were fellow members of the school’s football team.

“ My husband obvi- ously works for the police department,” she said. “He’s a fifth-generation Rutland, Vermont, person. In our family, we just believe in giving back. And that’s just what we’ve done.”
