Tottenham make a move to sign Manchester United’s Anthony Martial – report –

“It#8217;s also his personality, but I can say he is training better than before, he#8217;s working harder than before. Obviously we want more consistency in his talent.”

Rose has suggested Tottenham players were not being paid enough compared to their Premier League rivals in an interview that he has since apologised for, yet it has been clear for several weeks that the England full-back is a transfer target for United manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has stated several times that Nemanja Matic would not have sealed a move from Chelsea to United last month without pushing for the transfer to be completed, sparking suggestions that Rose may have believed he could open the door to a move to Old Trafford if he made his outspoken comments in the media.

Now Spurs appear to have responded to the interest in one of their key players, with suggestions that want Martial fuelling speculation that a swap deal involving Rose and Martial could be possible in the final weeks of the transfer window.

The ambitious move by the north London club may be a response to United’s efforts to sign Spurs full-back Danny Rose, who went public with his discontent with his current employers in an explosive newspaper interview earlier this week.

However, United have hinted that they are not looking to off-load Martial to leave this summer, after Inter Milan asked for the Frenchman to be included in a deal that would see their Croatian winger Ivan Perisic make a move to United.

“He#8217;s a young player who still time to learn, still time to improve, still time to develop,” said Mourinho of Martial
