The Met Office warns that the county#8217;s rural communities with limited access routes could become cut off and power supplies interrupted.

The Met Office urge drivers and cyclists to be extra cautious as there is likely to be some icy stretches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths and snowy surfaces.

The national weather service says this could lead to road, rail and air travel delays.

There is also the the potential for vehicles to become stranded or public transport to be cancelled or experience significant delays.

A spokesperson for The Weather Channel said: #8220;A band of snow will push eastwards through Sunday but this will readily turn to rain over central and southern areas.

#8220;Up to 7-12cm snow accumulation is expected for the Pennines. Northern Scotland may escape dry with plenty of winter sun.#8221;

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow over Gloucestershire on Sunday.
